Sunday Thoughts ~ Luke 21:25-28

"And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,

men fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Now when these things begin to take place, look up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

Today is the first Sunday of Advent, the start of a season full of wonder, hope and soul-searching as we prepare for the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Long ago, people searched the stars for signs from God. In due time the words of the prophets were fulfilled. Our Saviour came to live among us. The prophetic readings may be centuries old, but the words are filled with new meaning as we once again anticipate the fresh coming of our Lord, who we already know and love.

Now, in this day and age, we are the signs of his presence, his love and ministry on Earth. By having love and faith in our Heavenly Father, caring for our fellow man, and leading a good and kindly life, we can be  more like our Saviour, and show the world just how wonderful it is to have Him in our lives.

May we work with faith and strengthen our hearts for His coming. The world needs Him so badly.
Love and Hugs
